Leon Loucheur completed this mural, located just east of 30 Circular Avenue, in 2015. He once wrote of it: “I used the great white as a metaphor for the city, an insatiable carnivore being trailed by the ghosts of its endless consumption, skeletons of those digested by an ever-growing monster. The tattoo behind the eye reads ‘Rent,’ and the anchor banner reads ‘Keep Holding On.’”
I like its placement, which is just about where the condensing pond was once located for the Power House.
Loucheur is still working with animal imagery, but the vibe is different now.
