Then and Now: Comparing changes in Sunnyside through photographs

By Amy O’Hair

A series of posts showing photo comparisons of views on the streets of Sunnyside and nearby neighborhoods.

The “before” photographs date from as early as 1908, with most from the 1910s, 1920s, 1940s, and 1970s. Includes Ingleside, Glen Park, Mission Terrace, as well as long views that take in various views of the district from a distance. Sources for early photos include OpenSFHistory.org, SFMTA Photoshelter, Jesse Cook scrapbooks, and Western Railways Museum archives.

Listed below by post date (most recent first). A loosely alphabetical index by street or location follows. Sliders were made with Knight Lab JuxtaposeJS app. The slider photographs can be slow to load.
