Looking east on Monterey Boulevard midway between Foerster and Gennessee. The long strip of shops on the right side were bought up by Safeway Inc. during the 1960s before being demolished in the early 1970s to make way for a bigger version of their supermarket (the structure that still stands at 625 Monterey Blvd).
